Secure your sauce. These bioplastic lids offer a secure leak-proof fit for our 60ml and 140ml clear sauce containers, ideal for takeaway sauces, aioli, and anything really that your customers would want on the side. While these lids have the appearance of conventional petrochemical plastics, they are the Ingeo™ brand of polylactic acid (PLA). PLA has the ability to be processed in different forms, retaining the functional properties of conventional plastic but unlike petrochemical plastics, is produced from renewable feedstocks such as corn, cassava, sugar cane or beets.

Shelf life: Our bioplastic products have a 12-month shelf life from date of purchase. Store bioplastics out of direct sunlight and below 35ºC. Incorrect storage reduces product stability and shelf life.

Industrial Composting

Our PLA containers are certified compostable to the AS 4736, ASTM D6400 and EN 13432 standards for industrial composting, which requires the product to:

1) disintegrate after 12 weeks, and

2) completely biodegrade after six months. (This means that 90% or more of the material will have been converted to CO2. The remaining share is converted into water and biomass – i.e. valuable compost.)
